3 questions to GAUCHERE

John James by Olivier Classe

You combine a certain form of rigour and femininity. How would you describe your style?

There is something timeless about your clothes. How do you look at the pace of fashion?
Adventurous, more than ever we need to find our rhythm. Everyone needs to find the rhythm that suits them. As a designer I look for timelessness as a subject and not as an object.

Born in Germany, you studied and worked in New York before settling in Paris. What made you choose this city?

It’s true, I don’t quite fit the mould. However, I chose Paris well after living in New York. I was obsessed with French know-how and it was in Paris where I wanted to create my brand.
