The Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode is committed to providing assistance to the Ukrainian people amidst this humanitarian crisis. Its members will subsequently make donations via the UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency.
In just seven days, one million people have fled Ukraine. The UNHCR, which has been active in Ukraine and the region for many years, estimates that up to 4 million refugees could flee their homes during this period. The organisation is strengthening its operations by sending more resources, staff and relief items to be deployed on an emergency basis. The UNHCR’s child welfare and protection specialists are also ready to support national authorities.
“The Ukrainian people have been forced into a humanitarian crisis, as more than a million refugees are now escaping the rising dangers of this war. It is vital that we act on our support, which is why we have asked all our members to contribute to urgent relief efforts. Their donations to the Ukrainian people will be made through the UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency.”
Ralph Toledano, President of the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode
