The Yu Prize is the annual fashion award program set up by entrepreneur and philanthropist Wendy Yu and presented by Yu Holdings in official association with Shanghai Fashion Week and the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode. The Yu Prize aims to identify and discover the most promising and pioneering Chinese fashion talents.
For the first time, the program is introducing the naming of 20 semi-finalists whose applications have been reviewed and scored by the Yu Prize’s committee, which comprises Madame Lu (Vice Secretary General of Shanghai Fashion Week), Pascal Morand (Executive President of the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode), Renzo Rosso (President of OTB), Sara Sozzani Maino (Deputy Director of Vogue Italia and Head of Vogue Talents), Michael Ward (Managing Director of Harrods) and Wendy Yu (Founder & President of Yu Holdings). “The level of talent in China is going from strength to strength; and while we are excited to scout for the official winners of the YU PRIZE, we also want to provide more opportunity to celebrate other emerging designers by helping them gain recognition.” states Wendy Yu, Founder of the Yu Prize.
